Services

I provide an Integrative style of therapy which means I incorporate different methods of counselling in order to help my clients in the most effective way possible. Here are the main three approaches explained in more detail:

Therapy Closeup

Person-Centred counselling

Working in a Person-Centred way means that I see my clients as equal and capable of making their own decisions. My job as  a Counsellor is to guide people towards finding their own answers, and to listen without judgment. We face enough advice, opinions and criticism every day - I provide a safe space where you can step away from the outside noise and learn to connect with your intuition.

CBT Approach

CBT stands for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and stems from the idea that if we can change our faulty thinking, this will inevitably change our behaviour and emotions. CBT is a good approach for helping break addictions, increasing self-esteem and overcoming fears. For example, if you have a fear of heights, we would look at where that first stemmed from and discuss practical steps that can be taken to overcoming that fear.

Psychodynamic

Ever heard of Sigmund Freud? Whilst not all of his theories have stood the test of time (like the suggestion that we're all secretly in love with our fathers) I do believe that the concept of accessing our subconscious by talking about past events, Free Association (speaking words that immediately come to mind) and Dream Analysis are worth looking at with some people who are willing to go there. Ultimately, I am always led by my clients on this and would only look to delve into sensitive past trauma or memories if we had enough sessions to explore this together.

OCEAN Coaching Course

    Offering Creatives Endless Awakenings Now

I've always been passionate about helping people release their inner creative selves. So many of us have been forced to hide away our artistic talents because they're not seen as realistic ways of earning a living. Artists are forced to put their brushes away, actors are told to get a real job, musicians are encouraged to stick to karaoke. Sadly, the list goes on and many of us reach adulthood without ever having attempted to explore what our creative selves are capable of. The OCEAN course is designed to look at:

  • Challenging the messages we received growing up

  • Acknowledging our wildest creative dreams

  • Taking steps towards making these dreams a reality.
